| The Hunch Lake Cabin is located
along the Echo Trail approximately 15 miles north of Ely, MN. A private-gated driveway
leads you about ½ mile into the cabin area. There is only one other cabin (Echo Log Cabin) on the lake. It is 1/4 mile away.

The cabin sits on a granite outcrop some 80 feet above the lake. The view is "mountain- like,"with steep slopes covered with large red and white pine trees. Hunch Lake is a small and private lake - very quiet and peaceful! A walking (somewhat steep) trail leads you to the water’s edge, where there is a canoe and dock. There is also a canoe available at the cabin for day trips to other area lakes. |
| The cabin is bright and open with skylights and many windows, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful views. Gas lights, gas appliances, a wood stove, and a gravity warm water system (in summer) make for a cozy stay. An open stairway leads to a large loft bedroom that has a double bed and a futon. |  |

A balcony gives a treetop view of
the lake. There is one bedroom downstairs with a double bed and a sofa sleeper in the
living room. A comfortable outhouse is nearby. A new sauna with a wrap-around deck is next
to the cabin. The Hunch Lake Cabin sauna is an additional source of relaxation on your Echo Ridge Cabin retreat! |
| There are many trails in the area
for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and dog-sledding rides are available. Wildlife - moose,
wolves, deer, loons, etc. - are frequently seen. For our winter guests, this cabin has a trail that leads to the North Arm ski trail system. Rental skis and snowshoes can be made available with advance notice. |
